Luna’s Ruru quilt is nearly finished. Just doing some final embroidery pieces. I love finishing a quilt, and the next one is already in the planning stages for a friend expecting a baby in November. One day soon I plan to make some quilts for my own babies.
And I needed to make this. That is all.
I had a big art itch that needed scratching because I have a brand new baby and not a lot of time to make things. But sometimes needs must and I needed to make this.
It’s been a busy old month. In between growing a baby and moving house I have managed to make a little bit of progress on a quilt for another new baby, she is so new I haven’t even met her yet… here’s a Ruru for Luna.
I’m hanging out for Summer. The best things about Springtime are the flowers, fruits and veggies, certainly not the windy/sunny/rainy bipolar weather. The rainbows have been pretty cool though.

I’m slowly getting there with the old sunhat. Its fun to do something that evolves as I go instead of being planned from the beginning.
I have some photography in an exhibition opening next month in Auckland. Some oldies but goodies from the archive. ‘A Space Between’ is a group show curated by Ioana Gordon Smith at the Kumeu Arts Centre from 17th - 29th Spetember. The exhibition is part of the Archipelago exhibition series.
I am actually making progress on my sunhat. Might get if finished by summer after all.
